We can't wait to cook dinner for Tim Shultz in our new kitchen!

Kitchen cabinets are happening...very slowly and carefully! They have been built since mid-November of last year so the cabinet maker - Tim Shultz of Seattle Custom Cabinets was very happy to see us pick them up. The cabinets fit perfectly!

In this pictue you can see a seem where there used to be an inset front porch that was re configured in the 1940's to be part of the interior. We chose not to try to repair this by staggering the seam...again it adds character and reminds you of all the changes the house has gone through over the years - and it was cheaper not to fix it!! This floor has had one sanding - the seam will disappear a little with more sanding. We will also have area rugs and furniture on top of it.

We are very happy so far about how well they are coming out. The floors are over 100 hundred years old and have had lots of stuff glued, screwed, and nailed to them. They have lots of character!

A closer view of the same bedroom...

This is the third sanding of an upstairs bedroom.

This floor has been sanded once.

Floors are in the process of being sanded...they get four sandings with varying grits with wood colored filling between each sanding.
